OUR INSIGHTS
Our offices are based in the inner city area of Sydney which was an area owned by the Cadigal Wangal people of the Eora nation. The Cadigal people were dispossessed by European invasion more than two hundred years ago. Zakumi celebrates the survival of Aboriginal people and their culture following the European invasion and supports their right to determine their own future. We recognise the right of Aboriginal people to live according to their own values and culture. Most importantly we accept our responsibility to develop an awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal history and society across Australia’s social care sector.
